There is a religious aspect to football that’s never put aside. Faith plays an amazing role in the sport. I’m not talking about a specific faith or making a stand for this or that religion, just talking about how the faith of this or that player sometimes shines through and, at least apparently, gives them an extra edge. There’s also a certain religious influence on sport bets. But when it comes to your money, it’s best to trust on a good solid defensive line than on a Hail Mary.
If you want to trust your faith, be prepared that, sometimes, the gods don’t listen. Or maybe they’re listening to the other side instead. I like to think I have a healthy perspective on online betting. It wouldn’t be decent for me to bet on my own team, if I were involved with the team it’d actually be illegal. So I just don’t do it. Pick other teams to bet on, study other players and try to guess their performance, but don’t trust that your heart won’t interfere when it comes to betting on your favorite franchise.
Taking the “religion” out of your own football gambling will go a long way in increasing your earnings. Having a cool distance between yourself and the people you’re putting money on will give you an edge that all the in-depth knowledge of players from the teams you support won’t. The time for hail marys is over, now is the time to be a football atheist.
