No matter how much time and effort is invested into the task of trying to pick a Grand National winner (this can include monitoring form, pouring over horse racing odds, judging ground quality, etc), the events of the actual day can still come as a total shock; this has been proved in recent years with winners emerging who were somewhat on the surprising side… There is always a good chance that a complete outsider may find themselves on a day of unprecedented form and waltz away with that elusive prize.
Even runners who have displayed tip top form leading up to the big day can...

The Grand National is perhaps the most important horse racing event in the entire world; it is enjoyed by people all over the United Kingdom and promises to be a superb spectacle every time it is ran – the 2011 Grand National looks set to surpass all others in terms of sheer excitement and jubilation.
One of the most fundamental aspects of the entire Grand National festival is, of course, the racecourse on which it is ran: Aintree Racecourse. The layout and various different features of Aintree Racecourse have a massive effect on how the events of the Grand National will play out, and...

For many gamblers, the game of poker is their only focus. They might travel to Las Vegas and take a seat in one of the many poker rooms that can be found there. Here they can play with opponents sitting at the same table, which is where the online poker games differs. Playing online you have no physical opponents but you also won’t need to work on your poker face.
As you sit at your computer to play online, there will be no body language to read as you wait blindly for other online players to make their move. Playing in person will give you some time between hands...

Usually, sports betting is pretty straightforward. There is a match between two sides or two individuals, and you place a bet claiming that one of them will come out the winner or, when possible, that it will ultimately end in a draw. Also, the money you put into in is either lost or, when you in, you get your earning depending on the odds of the match. But there’s another form of betting, spread betting, that is a little more complicated.
Spread bets are all about mathematics and little details of a match. For example, in a football match you can place a bet on which team will...

Back in the early days of the internet, when the 14k modem was king and the sweet dulcet tones of the dial up tone elated the typical webizen, the concept of free betting online was far from the mind of any potential gambler or gamer. The current plugged in, web 2.0 culture, however, is awash in free betting online and a myriad of online casinos and betting halls to satiate the tastes of anyone intrigued about engaging in the thrill of betting on their favorite teams, horses, or races.
Engaging in free betting online is as easy as one, two, three! One, do a quick web search to see what...

There is a religious aspect to football that’s never put aside. Faith plays an amazing role in the sport. I’m not talking about a specific faith or making a stand for this or that religion, just talking about how the faith of this or that player sometimes shines through and, at least apparently, gives them an extra edge. There’s also a certain religious influence on sport bets. But when it comes to your money, it’s best to trust on a good solid defensive line than on a Hail Mary.
If you want to trust your faith, be prepared that, sometimes, the gods don’t listen. Or...
